We are currently working on a date to meet sometime in September for a workday, in which we will be planting bulbs, pruning trees, removing litter and trash, and planting fall plants.

Welcome to the home page of the Washington Heights Gardening Crew

Founded in 2002, our mission was and still is, to beautify Washington Heights through plants, removing graffiti and litter, and caring for the trees of our neighborhood. So far we have raised over $50,000 through grants from the city, and our local fundraiser that we hold twice a year in Mitchell Square. So far we have enclosed 14 street trees along Broadway with rod iron fencing, and have planted both perennials and annuals in the tree pits. We have also been put in charge of Duarte Square by Greenstreets.
